Living and dying with dignity
This accessible DVD has been produced by our team of people with learning disabilities working in partnership with professional film makers and specialist End of Life Care nurses.
The DVD shows people with learning disabilities talking about death and dying. It talks about the choices people have in End of Life Care and also encourages people to talk about their choices and make sure someone they know and trust knows what they are. Comment from David Gill, Self Advocate “This is a sad but informative DVD on how to cope when you or your loved ones are dying. Death isn’t always the easiest thing to talk about but it is important that you make plans for when the time comes. This DVD helps you think about the different options you have and gives useful contact numbers for help and support.
This DVD can be used when supporting people with learning disabilities, families, carers and also in group work when talking about death, dying and End of Life Care.
